This basic online paediatric first aid training childminders course is a level 2 course programme. It is aimed at childminders, nannies & nursery staff, who would like to gain basic paediatric first aid knowledge.

It should be noted that this course is also suitable for school teachers & school support staff. In addition, anyone working with children & infants who would like to gain level 2 paediatric first aid training certification.

Importantly, this e-learning child care course is designed to give everyone who works with children, infants a basic introduction to paediatric first aid. This will give you the confidence to aid in an emergency situation.

E-learning course for childminders, what’s covered?

• Unresponsive and breathing
• Unresponsive and not breathing
• Chain of survival
• Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) on children
• Choking
• Bleeding
• Burnt or has a scald
• Object in their eye, ear or nose
• Hypothermia or heat exhaustion
• Sickness or fever
• Medical emergency, including:
• Meningitis
• Diabetic emergency
• Seizures
• Asthma attack, and
• Severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock).
• Injury to a bone muscle or joint (including spinal injuries)
• Head injury
• Swallowed something harmful

Importantly, to meet the paediatric first aid training requirements of Ofsted you must complete a classroom based 12 hour paediatric first aid training course.

On completion of this online course you will be required to complete an online assessment with a pass mark of 80%. If you do not pass on your first attempt, you do not have to worry, as you can re-take the test as many times as you need with no extra charge.

Course Certification
This online training for paediatric first aid meets childcare registration requirements and on successful completion of this e-learning course, you will be able to download, save or print your certificate.
